January 2022

Late January sunset sky with lone prairie windmill

I finished up a road trip west river in early January and then was stuck indoors for most of the rest of the month with other duties and short daylight hours. I was able to get out a couple days late in the month to  explore areas around the Big Sioux River as well as chase an exquisite sunset into Turner County. From these forays come this month's favorite dozen photos. Click on an image for a larger file to view and thanks for stopping by!

September 2021

Traffic at dusk on the Spearfish Canyon scenic byway

September is a month of transition here on the northern great plains. Early in the month, the last of the summer wildflowers bloom and by the end of the month the high country is ablaze with Autumn colors. Thankfully I was able to get out and enjoy a little of both flavors this month.  Here are a dozen of my favorites from those excursions. Click on an image for a larger file to view and enjoy!

June 2021

First light on Bear Butte after a rain storm

Hard to believe June has come and gone. I covered a lot of ground and saw some unique botany, met some new friends and hung out with old friends and family. Just what a June should be. It was difficult to pull a dozen favorites together for the month, but that is also how it should be a for a camera slinger. Click on an image for a larger file to view and thanks for stopping by!
