A layer of fog hovers over the Moreau River Valley before the sun rises on an early June morning.
Earlier this month I was out before the sun came up (see previous post on stargazing) on one of the colder nights in June on record in North Central SD. My vehicle's thermometer dropped to 40 degrees at one point and I heard that Pierre got down to 38. The cold air caused all the warmer wet air above any body of water to hang low in the form of fog. I really like fog as it creates an aura of mystery and suspense in photographs. Here are some shots I was able to get that morning. Click on an image for a larger file to view and thanks for looking.
